That changed with the gentle introduction of Himani Mor, the woman who now shares the life of India’s most famous athlete.

Who is Himani Mor?
Apart from being the partner of an Olympic champion, Himani Mor is an accomplished individual with an illustrious background in both athletics and academics. Himani, a resident of Sonipat, Haryana, was an extraordinary tennis player. In 2016, he won the gold medal at the World Junior Tennis Championship. By 2018, she reached career-best national rankings of 42 in singles and 27 in doubles.
She is an alumnus of the prestigious Miranda House, Delhi, where she studied Political Science and Physical Education. His pursuit of knowledge took him to the United States, where he earned a dual MBA degree in Sports Management and Human Resources.

Currently, Himani is an assistant coach and graduate assistant at Amherst College in Massachusetts. She plays a key role in the management of the women’s tennis team, overseeing everything from recruiting and budgeting to match planning.

Neeraj and Himani’s paths in the world of sports first crossed in the United States. Their relationship developed through a shared understanding of the difficulties of being a professional athlete. What started as a personal bond eventually became a family affair, turning into a ‘love-cum-arranged’ marriage with the full support of both the families.
Quiet wedding and national reception
The couple got married in a private ceremony in Solan, Himachal Pradesh on January 16. In line with their humble values, Neeraj’s family stood firmly against the dowry system and accepted only a token rupee as shagun.
Since the wedding took place right when Neeraj’s competitive season was starting, the couple decided to delay their celebration by about eleven months. In late December 2025, they finally hosted two major receptions – a warm, community-focused event for over 2,500 guests, featuring traditional Haryanvi flavors like ghee boora and roti with chutney.
A high-profile event at the Leela Palace, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former President Ram Nath Kovind and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The Prime Minister personally blessed the couple and gifted them an idol of Lord Ram.

For Neeraj, marriage has brought a sense of balance. He describes Himani as a “blessing” who helps him stay motivated and focused. Although life has changed, his priorities remain the same: focus on training, love for his roots and living life with quiet dignity.
