Group A: Karnataka and Jharkhand outshine

In the much-awaited match, Karnataka easily crossed the target of 285 runs and won over Kerala by eight wickets. But in a relatively one-sided match, Jharkhand defeated Rajasthan by 73 runs on the basis of all-round performance. In the other two matches, while Tripura registered a seven-wicket win over Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu held off the challenge of Madhya Pradesh with a hard-fought win to maintain their lead of 280 runs.

Group B: Rinku Singh’s power hitting

However, the highlight in Group B was UP’s spectacular win against Chandigarh, which was easily won by 227 runs. The reason for UP’s easy victory was the unmatched performance of Rinku Singh, who scored a century in just 56 balls. Another team that extended its winning streak was J&K, which won against Assam by 142 runs. There were some matches which fell till the wire. For example, Baroda chased runs against Bengal and won easily by four wickets.

Group C: Imagine the dominance of Mumbai and Punjab

Mumbai had a scary start with Rohit Sharma being dismissed for a golden duck, but they managed to bounce back and win against Uttarakhand by 51 runs. Wicketkeeper Hardik Tamore played a life-saving inning of 93* runs in the innings. The day went very well for Punjab as they defeated Chhattisgarh by nine wickets. They got another easy win against Sikkim by eight wickets. Goa managed to win against Himachal Pradesh by just eight runs.

Group D: Delhi won a thrilling match

The next group match of the day was played in Bengaluru, where Delhi won against Gujarat by just seven runs. Virat Kohli continued his exceptional form by scoring a half-century off 29 balls and eventually reached the total of 77. Although Gujarat’s chase was strong, Delhi’s bowlers showed character in the last overs. Other results included Haryana’s six-wicket win over Saurashtra, Andhra’s six-wicket win and Odisha’s four-wicket win against Services.
