For most of the last ten years, Roman Reigns has been the undisputed face of WWE, representing him as the Tribal Chief and attracting huge audiences to his shows. However, 2025 has been a strangely difficult year for “OTC” (The One True Champion), and the latest figures suggest it could be one of the toughest times of his career. Despite the fact that Reigns’ star power and presence are still very powerful, his in-ring performance record is a little less bright this year.

Roman Reigns’ record suffered a setback amid a challenging year

In the past, Roman Reigns was a superstar who was extremely difficult to defeat, so tough that he rarely returned to the mat after a loss, and holding the Universal title for a record-breaking 1,316 days served to further confirm his strength. But, everything changed in 2025. He was only appearing in seven matches throughout the year which already counts as extremely low compared to previous years.

Furthermore, he lost and lost to them three times, and was able to win only three times. Therefore, his win percentage would be around 42.9%, which completely lies with the record of being an undefeated veteran that he has had for most of his WWE career.

Roman Reigns suffers a rare meltdown amid major match loss

Initially the losses have not been mere filler matches. Reigns was eliminated from the Royal Rumble, he lost a major triple threat match at WrestleMania as his longtime partner Paul Heyman turned on him, and in addition, he suffered losses in other high-profile matches, such as losing in a very unusual street fight at Crown Jewel and having a tough time at Survivor Series WarGames.

All of this taken together could be seen as perhaps the toughest period in his wrestling career, a year in which even the best can’t completely escape the ups and downs of the wrestling industry, but still, it seems unnaturally tough for a star of Reigns’ level.
