It appears that Gunther has a different job in WWE. The Ring General has found a new purpose after eliminating John Cena in his last match on the December 13 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event.
He is playing the role of a villain and mocking the fans in such a way that no one can ignore him, constantly telling them that he has forced The Cenation Leader into submission. His rude attitude is very irritating to various people, especially Adam Pearce who threw him out of the building during Raw.
Ring General reminds everyone of his dominance in Tampa
The Austrian veteran stepped into the ring for the first time since his famous victory at Superstars Night Mayor at the World Wrestling Entertainment live event in Tampa, Florida. The Ring General was pitted against NXT’s rising star, Jevon Evans.
The two set up a storyline clash in the first round of the Last Time Is Now tournament, which marked the former World Heavyweight Champion’s return to the small screen after a medical break. In a case of history repeating itself, he managed to tap out The Young OG.
Gunther announces his mission
After the match, The Ring General looked at the camera and announced that he had a new profession, making people surrender. He then said that there was nothing remarkable about Evans and that he was the only extraordinary talent in the company. He commented:
“Forcing people to give up is my profession now, and this little punk thinks he’s something special; the only one who’s special around here is me.”
Gunther earns praise as a top contender
Currently, The Ring General is one of the most disliked villains in World Wrestling Entertainment, and however, the talent he possesses cannot be denied. In a recent interview, The Miz couldn’t help but praise Gunther, calling him the ideal choice for John Cena’s final opponent and saying that the wrestler in question had the “it” factor. In WWE Raw, the Ring General has been troubled by players like CM Punk, AJ Styles and Rey Mysterio. It is still a mystery who will be his next opponent.
