AJ Styles had made it clear a few days ago that he is loyal to WWE. At the event, there was a triple threat match where Styles and his tagging partner Dragon Lee defended their tag team titles against the War Raiders (Erik and Ivar) and The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods).

Styles asked the fan if his camera was on and the fan replied that it was. He then turned on the fan to collect the belt, looked at the fan’s camera and said:
“Nick, Matt, I love you. However, I can’t sign this.”

Backstage words change to title match announcement
First, The Usos welcomed them warmly and announced that they would compete for the World Tag Team Championship the following week (December 29). Styles and Dragon later said in an onstage interview that they were brave fighters and strong enough to accept any challenge, including those from Jey and Jimmy Uso. Raw manager Adam Pearce announced the fight when he was announcing the line-up for the taping of the next episode.
