New England Patriots defensive lineman Christian Barmore Allegedly threw his daughter’s mother on the groundIt is the second allegation of violence in as many days against a member of a playoff-bound team, officials said Wednesday.
Attleboro District Court records show the 26-year-old man is charged with misdemeanor assault and battery on a family or household member.
The victim is a 31-year-old woman who has a two-year-old daughter with Barmore, according to a report from Mansfield Police Sgt. John Armstrong.
The incident reportedly occurred on August 8, the same day as New England’s first preseason game of the 2025 campaign. Barmore did not play in it 48-18 exhibition win Washington over commanders.
The police report states that Barmore and the woman were arguing that day when she tried to call for help and the player knocked the phone out of her hand and “threw it to the floor”.
According to the report, she “tried to get up but Christian had grabbed her shirt in the neck area”.
Police said the woman left Barmore’s apartment in Mansfield, about 6 miles from Gillette Stadium, in a car service provided by the Patriots.
The revelation against Barmore comes a day after recently released police records revealed that star Pats wide receiver Stefon Diggs was accused of slapping and choking his live-in personal chef until “she had trouble breathing.”
Barmore’s attorney and a representative for the NFL could not immediately be reached for comment Wednesday.
New England coach Mike Vrabel said the team was aware of the allegations against Barmore.
The coach said he was still comfortable keeping Barmore on the field all these months, calling the claims against the lineman “just allegations” for now.
“We want to make sure that the court, you know, that the court proceedings are ongoing,” Vrabel told reporters on Wednesday. “And once they’re satisfied you know we’ll come to whatever conclusions and decisions we need to make. We’ll also remain committed to our preparation here with Miami and make sure everyone is ready to go no matter who they play on Sunday.”
