Cody Rhodes recently assaulted a WWE official during the SmackDown broadcast. The Christmas Day taping of Friday Night SmackDown was a holiday special that was well-planned and had a lot to offer the audience.
From Joe Hendry and The Miz’s entertaining opening act, to R-Truth dressed as the Easter Bunny, to the significant title change, the show was full of ups and downs in terms of storyline.
It’s official: Drew McIntyre vs. Cody Rhodes in a “Three Stages of Hell” match for the Undisputed Title is set for the January 9 episode of SmackDown in Berlin, Germany.

Cody Rhodes breaks down as tensions rise in closing moments
In the closing segments of the event, Cody Rhodes, to his credit, lost it handily, and his very first action was to go after a WWE official in front of the entire WWE Universe. The undisputed WWE Champion, Rhodes came to the ring to stop Drew McIntyre, who was angry at referee Dan Angler after publicly apologizing.
McIntyre had provoked the champion from the beginning and urged him to kill him. This, in turn, was escalated by demands from the Scottish Warrior to strip Rhodes of the titles if he even dared lay a finger on them.
Drew McIntyre’s provocation gets extremely personal
Next, McIntyre tried to provoke Rhodes by reminding him of the promise he made the previous week to perform for the audience, not for Aldis. The Scottish warrior was about to enter the fight to gain the upper hand, but Rhodes remained calm. After that, McIntyre became extremely rude by saying,
“When I torture you in Berlin, when I send you straight to hell, say hello to your father for me.”
Cody Rhodes’ anger has reached its peak
This ignited a different kind of flame in Rhodes, ready to set the world on fire. Aldis attempted to intervene and calm him down, but an enthusiastic Rhodes caught him by elbowing him straight in the face, knocking him to the ground. There was not a moment’s doubt on Rhodes’ face as he didn’t wait a second to see what his friend and GM was up to.
