Virat Kohli, known as the “King” of contemporary cricket, has added another badge to his already illustrious cap with a brilliant innings of 77 runs for Delhi against Gujarat in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in Bengaluru yesterday. This was more than just a display of class; It has also included Kohli in the records.

With this innings at the BCCI Center of Excellence, Kohli broke former Australian batsman Michael Bevan’s record of becoming the batsman with the highest average in the List A format who had played at least 5,000 innings. Kohli’s List A average is now 57.87, surpassing Michael Bevan’s previous record of 57.86, a record that stood for several decades.
